The newly improved valve assembly reduces exhalation resistance, making breathing more comfortable. The 4000+ series features a soft, textured, hypoallergenic, silicone-free facepiece and provides protection against various hazardous gases, vapors, and particles. They are lightweight and balanced in design, with a centrally located exhalation valve that helps reduce heat and moisture build-up, providing greater comfort when working in hot and humid conditions. The integrated filters require no maintenance; simply use them until the replacement schedule indicates a change is needed or until they are saturated—then dispose of them. The adjustable head harness fits various head sizes and shapes, and the neck straps are easy to adjust. The low-profile design does not obstruct peripheral vision, and the two large bonded carbon filters have low breathing resistance. Available in four models. The exhalation breathing resistance of the 3M™ 4000+ mask is reduced by over 30% for the maximum exhalation flow of 120 lpm and by over 35% for 160 lpm, compared to the 3M™ 4000 Series masks.
