3M™ Performance Plus Duct Tape 8979 has a unique structure that makes it suitable for both temporary and permanent applications, indoors and outdoors. It can be removed with minimal residue from most opaque surfaces, even up to 6 months after application.

Made from a polyethylene film laminated onto fabric with a rubber adhesive backing, this tape conforms to irregular and curved surfaces, resists curling, and tears cleanly from the roll for easier application. It is an excellent option for containment operations, providing a tight seal to join polyurethane drapes and closures. Our Performance Plus 8979 duct tape has been tested in compliance with UL723 and ASTM E84 standards. It can be used at temperatures up to 93.33 ºC. Originally developed for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications, this duct tape is now used in a wide range of maintenance, repair, and construction environments. In addition to the traditional silver color, we offer it in a wide variety of colors for improved utility and aesthetics.
